Hand Washing - Technique is Key

3/18/2020

Everyone knows how to wash their hands, right? It may seem so simple, but many people aren't practicing great hand-washing techniques.
  • Step 1: Wet hands with running water, turn off water.
  • Step 2: Apply enough soap to cover wet hands
  • Step 3: Scrub all surfaces of the hands – including back of hands, between fingers and under nails – for at least 20 seconds. I count one one thousand, two one thousand... 20 one thousand.
  • Step 4: Turn the water back on & rinse thoroughly with running water
  • Step 5: Dry hands with a clean cloth or single-use towel - use towel to turn off water.
This routine will be great to reduce spread of virus, however eventually washing well takes a toll on your skin. We recommend using an unscented lotion. At night when you're done with your bedtime routine, one last washing, slather on the lotion and wear cotton gloves or socks on your hands to repair your hands while you sleep.

Let's take care of each other.
